If you’re a geek who enjoys British sitcom humor, you either are already a Red Dwarf fan or need to watch more of it until you become one. Every season of the show is available on Netflix streaming, so really there’s no excuse. I kid! But of course Red Dwarf was a very funny show, and since 1999, when both it and Mystery Science Theater 3000 were canceled, there’s been a distinct lack of genuinely funny science fiction on TV.
So the word is, straight from the mouth of Craig Charles (Lister), that Red Dwarf will rise again! It won’t be back until next year, and it’s anyone’s guess how long it’ll take for the new season to make it across the Atlantic so American fans can watch it, too, but it’s coming back — and with all the same cast members. Maybe we should start sending letters to the folks at BBC America now, just to get the jump on things.
Dreams Do Come True of the Day: Knokkers: The glorious lovechild of bowling and eight-ball pool.
Think a pool table that got mega-rayed with bowling ball-sized balls on a table that is 15 X 30 feet. Players stand and walk on the felt to make otherwise billiards-type shots by bowling the cue ball. The table is about a foot and a half off the ground. It’s safe, fast-paced, and entertaining for others to watch.
The game was supposed to launch in 2010, but the official website doesn’t say whether or not it actually did.
